Smile

Smile

Smile, though your heart is aching,
Smile, even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by.
If you smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through
For you.

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

(Charles Chaplin - John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons)

"Smile" is an instrumental theme composed by Charlie Chaplin and played in a 1936's film, "Modern Times".
John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons added the lyrics and title in 1954 and was originally sung by Nat King Cole
